HSEDocs offers this Level 1 Safeguarding Children course, which is an introductory training course for anyone working or volunteering with children. It covers understanding what safeguarding is, recognising signs of abuse and neglect, knowing how to report concerns, and understanding legal responsibilities to protect children from harm. The course provides essential knowledge on different types of abuse, how to respond to disclosures, and the importance of acting on and reporting concerns to the appropriate authorities.

Course duration: Between 2 ½ and 3 hrs depending on learning speed.

Course format: Three video training modules, with a multiple-choice section at the end of each module.

Entry Requirements: Anyone can complete this course, whether they have previous experience or not.

If you work or volunteer with children or young people, then this Level 1 Safeguarding course is for you.

After completing your Level 1 Online Safeguarding Children and Young Persons Course, your training certificate will be valid for three years.

All successful candidates are entered on the national training register, and certificates can be verified by employers or others to prove that they are genuine by clicking Validate a Certificate and typing in the certificate number.
