This is a four-module leadership and supervision training course.
- Module 1 introduces self-awareness, emotional intelligence, active listening, clear speech, word choice, body language and adapting communication to different personalities. It also covers trust, workplace relationships, conflict, positive team culture, problem-solving and performance management.
- Module 2 concentrates on the supervisor’s role. It discusses setting expectations, organising work, supporting development, communicating with management, building trust, motivating staff, managing conflict, delegating, solving problems, managing time and providing continuous feedback.
- Module 3 examines management communication in greater depth. It covers clarity, active listening, rapport, empathy, non-verbal communication, cultural differences, personal space, appearance, constructive feedback, adapting communication styles and handling difficult conversations calmly and collaboratively.
- Module 4 outlines broader leadership qualities, including vision, strategic direction, time management, delegation, structured problem-solving, emotional intelligence, adaptability, financial awareness, understanding team dynamics, encouraging collaboration and recognising achievement.
The central message is that effective leadership relies less on authority alone and more on self-awareness, clear communication, fairness, trust, adaptability and the ability to motivate and develop other people. Good leaders establish clear objectives, involve their teams, address problems promptly, recognise contributions, and continually review both performance and their own leadership approach.
