Injury through high temperatures is one of the most common risks. The person operating the soldering iron and others in the vicinity may suffer burn injuries if control measures aren’t put into place:

• Items to be soldered are to be held with clamps if closer than 65mm from the hands
• Ensure the iron is switched off when not in use

How Often Should You Complete a Soldering Risk Assessment?

Review & update your risk assessment for soldering at least once per year. We’d recommend completing a new soldering-specific risk assessment as soon as you get a new piece of equipment, or the items or location of your soldering changes.

What Are the Hazards Of Soldering?
