Health and Safety for Employees Level 1

In August 2026, we added a new course titled ‘Health and Safety for Employees, Level 1’, designed specifically as a beginner training course. It teaches basic safety rules for the workplace. It is ideal for new staff, young workers, or people starting work experience.

Course Overview: Health and Safety for Employees Level 1 is an introductory training course that provides foundational knowledge of workplace safety. This course is particularly beneficial for new hires, young workers, and individuals beginning their work experience. By participating in this training, learners will develop critical skills to identify potential hazards and implement safety measures to maintain a secure working environment.

Basic Rules of Workplace Safety: Understanding the roles and responsibilities of both employers and employees in promoting a safe work environment. This section outlines management's legal obligations to ensure safety protocols are in place, as well as workers' responsibilities to adhere to these safety measures.

Identifying Common Dangers: A thorough examination of prevalent workplace hazards, including slips, trips, and falls, as well as potential fire hazards. Participants will learn to recognise these dangers and the contexts in which they may occur, such as wet floors, uneven surfaces, and flammable materials.

Practising Safe Actions: Instruction on proper manual lifting techniques to prevent musculoskeletal injuries, as well as the importance of personal hygiene in the workplace to prevent the spread of illness. This segment emphasises ergonomic practices and the significance of maintaining a clean environment.

Understanding Safety Signs: Comprehensive training on interpreting various safety signs and symbols that communicate essential safety information. This includes understanding the meanings of warning, mandatory, and emergency exit signs, enabling employees to respond appropriately in different situations.

Reporting Procedures: Guidance on the importance of reporting accidents, incidents, and near misses. This topic covers the appropriate reporting channels and encourages a culture of safety by highlighting how reporting can prevent future incidents.

This is an ideal induction course for new staff, young workers, or people starting work experience.
