Food and Hygiene Level 2 Explained

An online Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene course typically takes between 1 to 3 hours to complete. The duration may vary depending on your individual learning speed, as most providers offer the flexibility to learn at your own pace and to pause or resume modules as needed.

Our own courses, and we presume many others, prevent candidates from skipping through the content and going straight to the questions. However, candidates may adjust the video playback speed to match their reading and comprehension skills.

Allowing videos to be slowed down is often a great help for students whose first language is not English. Increasing the playback speed can be beneficial for people who thrive on a quicker learning experience.

The HSEDocs Level 2 Food Safety course has 1 hour and 20 minutes of video, split into 4 sections, with a multiple-choice section at the end of each module. We advise allowing 2 hours to complete the course.

Another thing to consider when comparing the top providers for getting a food hygiene certificate online in under two hours, is how the certificate is delivered. If it’s a posted certificate, only you’ll have to wait for its delivery, whereas digital copies, emailed as soon as the course is successfully completed, are a faster option.
